PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna appealed that the operational hours of the spilled market must end at 06.00 WIB. "After that, there will no longer be any spill market activity," said Ema while monitoring the Tumpah Sudirman Market, Friday (1/3/2024)

"Earlier we saw the non-formal economic activities on Jalan Sudirman, with the Tumpah Sudirman Market, the progress of which was far from expectations. The regulations in Regional Regulation No. 4 of 2011 state that their activities must be completed by 06.00 WIB in the morning, but in fact they are up until 07.30 WIB still active," said Ema.

Ema appealed to the trader coordinators in the Tumpah Sudirman Market area to obey the existing rules. He said that traders had agreed to stop their activities at 06.00 WIB.

"The coordinators there have agreed that starting tomorrow, Saturday (2/3/2024) they will be active until 06.00 WIB according to the Regional Regulation. Then we will give them time to clean up their belongings until 06.30 WIB," he said.

Ema emphasized that there should no longer be any traders' stalls kept on the sidewalk. If there are still any, Satpol PP will control them.

"Well, the bagbagan (trading stalls) don't have room for them to store them on the sidewalk. That's why they have to be responsible for bringing them back. If not, we will take firm action to discipline them by the Satpol PP and that has been agreed upon," he said.

Ema said that the Department of Water Resources and Highways (DSDABM) and the regional government had arranged the sidewalks in the Sudirman area by repainting them and improving their layout.

"We also ask for arrangements by DSDABM and the region to be repainted and the layout to be repaired to provide beauty, aesthetics and order," he said.

The rules for trading at the spilled market are regulated in Article 17 of Mayor Regulation Number 32 of 2019 concerning the Second Amendment to Bandung Mayor's Regulation Number 888 of 2012. The spilled market is included in the Yellow Zone.

The yellow zone is all markets spilling over in the region, so street vendors are only allowed to trade during certain hours, namely from 22.00-06.00 WIB. Apart from that, it is also open from 17.00-04.00 WIB for the market for culinary traders. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
