PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) welcomes the implementation of Simultaneous Tree Planting throughout Indonesia in the context of the 41st Forester Service Day. This event was held in Karyamekar Village, Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, Thursday (7/3/2024).

Head of the Garut Regency Environmental Service (DLH), Jujun Juansyah, revealed that this activity was on the agenda of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia.

"This event was scheduled by the Ministry of the Environment and we have just carried out planting, for what is on the agenda for Environment Day," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Java Provincial Forestry Service (Dishut), Dodit Ardian Pancapana, stated that although the planting implementation was delayed for 2 months, his party is now pursuing sustainable tree planting, especially using the seed ball method considering the limited number of tree seedlings.

However, with the estimated rainy season which may only be a month and a half away, March and April, the party continues to carry out planting efforts.

"We are trying to catch up on planting these days by planting with higher seeds," he said.

This time, the simultaneous planting was carried out on 2 hectares of land in Karyamekar Village with the number of trees planted reaching 200 avocado trees.

Head of the West Java Province Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA), Irawan Asaad, explained that this activity was not only ceremonial, but also a real step to accelerate land rehabilitation and restore environmental quality, as well as empower local communities.

"This is an ongoing activity, and we will then report this activity to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry at the first opportunity," said Irawan.

Irawan explained that planting trees simultaneously today is a concrete step to accelerate land rehabilitation and improve environmental quality. (Diskominfo Garut/Revo)
