PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Regional Assistant III for General Administration Budi Gan Gan Gumilar emphasized the commitment of the Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) in supporting the role of the Open University (UT) in improving Human Resources (HR) in the area.

This statement was made when he was a resource person at the UT Bandung New Student Admissions Public Lecture in Garut Regency, Saturday (9/3/2024).

In his presentation, Budi reviewed development issues, including human resource development, exclusive economy, equitable development, and bureaucratic reform in Garut Regency. He also praised the enthusiasm of UT students, which was proven by the students' active role during public lectures.

"How can we continue to encourage the improvement of human resources, we work together with all stakeholders, how can the quality of human resources in Garut Regency be better and improve," he said.

He hopes that the quality of human resources in Garut Regency can improve, so that extreme poverty in Garut Regency can decrease or even cease to exist.

The person in charge and lecturer at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PPKN UT Bandung Study Program, Riza Alrakhman, explained that this activity is part of the distance learning success service, where students get information about the distance learning system at UT.

"So students will get information about where their learning resources come from, what learning services are like, and some very important information for students to know while they are UT students," he said.

He highlighted UT's uniqueness in implementing a distance learning learning system, which gives students flexibility in choosing how to study. This activity lasts for 4 weeks with the aim of providing students with an understanding of universities, faculties and study programs.

"Well, UT has learning services ranging from face-to-face tutorials, online tutorials, webinar tutorials, so those are the options that students can choose," he said.
