PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Government (Pemda) of Bandung City will immediately organize illegal parking and traders selling on the sidewalks in the Kordon Market area for comfort and order in the area.

So far, the existence of illegal parking on the body and shoulders of the road as well as street vendors (PKL) on the sidewalks has resulted in traffic delays.

Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna said that the body and shoulder of the road should not be used as a parking area. He said that vehicle parking would be encouraged and moved to the former Puskesmas land near Kordon Market.

"Here the traffic jam is extraordinary, we will divert the parking for visitors and traders inside. We agreed that starting Saturday (2/3/2024) the parking will be diverted to government land at the former Puskesmas," said Ema when visiting Kordon Market, Friday (1/3/2024 )

He asked the sub-district head and regional officials to carry out outreach regarding the relocation of the parking location to the community.

"The sub-district head is carrying out outreach. We will move all the people who usually park. The motorbikes will then go to the former Puskesmas. We will coordinate with Perumda Pasar," he said.

Traders selling on the sidewalk will also be relocated to the market area so that they do not interfere with the function of the sidewalk for pedestrians.

Apart from that, the Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM) will carry out sidewalk repairs along Jalan Buahbatu Canal.

"There are no more traders selling on the sidewalk, because the sidewalk will also be repaired," said Ema.

Regarding smooth traffic, Ema also asked the Transportation Department (Dishub) to deploy officers and carry out traffic engineering.

"Dishub plotting officers are assisted by regional and police departments to regulate traffic so that it runs smoothly," he said. (Diskominfo Bandung City/ Revo)
