PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional Government (Pemda) continues to accelerate the performance of a number of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in resolving various general public complaints.
Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema said that a number of general complaints from the public were related to peace and public order (Trantibum). These include problems with traffic jams, floods, damaged roads, sidewalks, spilled markets, illegal parking, as well as street lighting or public lighting facilities and the arrangement of street vendors.
"In the context of providing peace and public order, it is a matter of mandatory basic services and is the community's right. We must be alert in responding to these complaints," he said when giving directions at the Trantibum Coordination Meeting at Bandung City Hall, Monday (4/3/2024)
He encouraged all levels of the Bandung City Regional Government to increase their "sense of crisis" in dealing with public complaints.
Ema said that currently the Bandung City Government is concentrating on completing five points of improvement, namely the arrangement of street vendors at the Struggle Monument, Saparua, Ujungberung, Kordon Market, and Sudirman Spill Market, Cikutra, Ciwastra, Kosambi, Kiaracondong, and Cijerah Market.
"The arrangement in Monju and Saparua is 95 percent complete. There are no longer any street vendors on the sidewalks, people exercising is safer and more comfortable. There is no longer any parking on Jalan Ambon, there is also no parking on Jalan Banda," he said.
Furthermore, Ema said that Ujungberung Market and Kordon Market continue to be monitored in the control process.
"Ujungberung must continue to be guarded and guarded. Regarding the Kordon Market, it is also a process. Likewise with the spill market, everything must be finished by 06.00 WIB. If there are complaints from the public, they must be followed up immediately," he added.
Regarding congestion points, Ema revealed that in the city of Bandung there are 42 congestion points. These points must be resolved immediately and a solution found. Ema asked the Transportation Department to be more proactive in eradicating illegal parking in the city of Bandung.
Ema also encouraged a number of open space facilities such as parks to be given more attention. From the lighting aspect, Ema asked the Transportation Agency to immediately fix it. Also lighting on the streets of Bandung City.
"For example, the PJU along Jalan Soeta has the highest number of complaints, because there is a lack of lighting. I ask that this be a priority. It's dark at night," said Ema.
Apart from that, there are also complaints regarding buskers, homeless people and hawkers at road intersections.
"Buskers, beggars and hawkers are chaotic. Especially before Ramadan. Please pay attention to this. There are many hawkers and homeless people at road intersections. Satpol PP and Social Services will immediately make an action plan," he said.
Not only that, Ema also asked the Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM) to continue repairing damaged roads and sidewalks in Bandung City. Apart from that, several flood points must also be resolved immediately.
"Damaged sidewalks and roads are also still a concern. One of them is along Dipatiukur to be able to measure and check what is damaged. Repair it immediately. Many people have complained," he said.
Ema also asked the Bandung City Environmental Service (DLH) to clean up the piles of rubbish on the highway. This is so as not to disturb residents' activities.
"I ask that before 06.00 WIB, the city is clean, there should no longer be piles of rubbish on the roads. DLH immediately changes the transportation pattern. Cleaning officers and DLH before 06.00 WIB, the city is clean before people move," he said.
He also encouraged OPD heads, sub-district heads and village heads to go to the field to resolve the problems complained by the community.
Ema hopes that all parties can collaborate to create an even better Bandung City.
