PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) collaborated with communities in the City of Bandung to hold a Cleaning activity for the Fun of City Sidewalks to Make It Fun and Excellent (FOR YOU), at Cikapundung Riverspot, Wednesday (17/1/2024).

This activity involves the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM), Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (Diskar PB), regional officials and other OPD elements.

When opening this activity, the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono welcomed it positively and said that BUAT KAMU was a strategic step which was a reminder of the importance of protecting the environment.

"This public space must be able to be utilized by the community. Despite all the limitations, we are collaborating with community elements. Come on, let's clean the public space around Bandung Square together," he said.

Bambang said MAKE YOU in Cikapundung Riverspot the starting point. According to him, this activity will be carried out again at other points in Bandung City.

"This is the first step. Next there will be at various points in Bandung City," he said.

This activity is also in line with one of the Bandung City Government's targets for 2024, namely revitalizing public spaces so that they can be maximally enjoyed by the community.

"We are preparing public spaces so they can be enjoyed. Like in the Alun-alun area, there are lots of public spaces for the community," he said.

He hopes that all parties can work together to protect the environment of Bandung City. One of them is by throwing away rubbish and getting used to managing rubbish according to its type.

"We hope that the citizens of Bandung City care more about the environment. Create an atmosphere in Bandung City that is truly clean, beautiful and comfortable, so that we can both enjoy it," he said.

This activity involved around 300 volunteers from government and community elements. These include: Edan Sepur Community, Forkom Bandung Raya, West Java Elderly Friendly Indonesian Community, Indonesian River Rescue Community, Bandung BMX System Community, Bandung Parkour Community, Ecology and Conservation Brotherhood Indonesia, Bandung City BMX Association, Ecology and the Central Executive Board of the Disability Association West Java.
