PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. MAJALENGKA - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin confirmed that West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka Regency is ready to face the 2024 Eid homecoming flow.

Bey conveyed this to the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi when checking BIJB, Saturday (9/3/2024).

Checking BIJB Kertajati in facing the 2024 Eid homecoming flow is an order from President Joko Widodo to ensure the smooth flow of homecoming and returning.

"This is the President's instruction that this year's homecoming must be smooth and I see there are no problems here," said Budi Karya Sumadi.

The peak of this year's Eid homecoming flow is predicted to occur on April 5.

During the inspection, Budi together with Bey, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Inspector General Pol Aan Suhanan, and other related parties inspected a number of facilities in the passenger arrival and departure areas.

Budi said that the check was the government's effort to ensure the readiness of passenger transportation, especially at Kertajati Airport.

"We came here with Kakorlantas so that there would be no problems," said Budi.

He continued, the key to a smooth homecoming flow is collaboration. Therefore, Budi wants the central and regional governments to continue collaborating, including with Korlantas Polri, Angkasa Pura and toll road managers.

According to him, collaboration is important in formulating security plans and regulating homecoming flows.

"As usual, going home will be smooth if we collaborate," said Budi.

Apart from checking preparations for Kertajati Airport, Budi, Bey, and Aan also visited the Cisumdawu Toll Road at KM 152. This point is where vehicle flows from the Cisumdawu Toll Road and the Cipali Toll Road meet.

"We also visited the Cisumdawu and Cipali toll roads because in our mapping of these two areas there was a possibility of congestion," said Budi.
